MEET BEATRICE: THE FACE BEHIND OUR PHRENCHIE

Beatrice hails from the seaside town of Klaipeda, Lithuania but her modelling career has seen her jet-set all over the globe. She has since settled in Florence, Italy where she is completing her studies in Communication Arts at Florence University of the Arts.

(She's one talented and smart little cookie!)

We sat down with her for a quick coffee and chat to find out more about her life and why she loves Florence so much!

HOW DID YOU GET INTO MODELLING?

So basically, I went to my first casting when I was 13. I was actually out with my Mom at the Super Mall in my home city looking to buy a new pair of jeans and an agency was casting for new faces. Modelling was something I never really thought about doing to be honest. I mean, I used to love watching America's Next Top Model but it was never a dream of mine. I was also a baby, I was only 13 at the time and all the other girls in the casting were in their 20's so I was very intimidated. Actually, my cousin also went to the casting but I was picked and she wasn't!

.........and the rest is history!

DO YOU HAVE ANY CAREER HIGHLIGHTS OR A PINCH ME MOMENT?

Absolutely! I would have to say walking in the Armani show during Milan Fashion Week was one of my career highlights. Actually, doing any catwalk job was always so much fun for me. Nothing beats that rush of adrenalin when you step on and off the runway.

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO STUDY IN FLORENCE?

I actually wanted to study in Barcelona. Florence at the time was a city I never even considered to come to! Back home in Lithuania I found a study advisor to help me find Universities that had programs in Liberal Arts. Barcelona was not the city for that and it's how and why I ended up in Florence! I'm really loving my studies here and I have completely fallen in love with the city and everything the Italian culture has to offer!

WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT FLORENCE?

That's so hard to say because I fall more in love with the city everyday. It's a special place because it's so rich in history, art, architecture and beauty. It honestly inspires me everyday.

WHERE IS YOUR FAVOURITE PART OF THE CITY TO HANG OUT?

I love anything on the other side of the river! The Oltrarno has a cool vibe, lots of places to go and it's where all the locals hangout so you get the authentic Florentine experience!
